Goatober at Farm Table USA

During the month of October the Farm Table will offer Goatober specials including a Philly Goat Sandwich, featuring goat meat from Cylon Rolling Acres in Cylon, Wis.

Sarah Mittelstadt is the Chef and Kitchen Manager at Farm Table Foundation, a non-profit restaurant that seeks to grow local food culture out of Amery, WI. Sarah studied Food Systems at the University of Minnesota but fell in love with feeding people as she learned to sling bison burgers and Thai curry from the Chef Shack food truck in Minneapolis, MN. For her, the food at Farm Table restaurant brings full circle the relationship between farmers and the land that she studied in school and the good and nourishing food she learned to surround herself with. In 2018, Sarah helped to increase Farm Table’s local food spending to 84% within 60 miles of the restaurant. She is absolutely committed to a homesteader’s kitchen model that creatively preserves and utilizes the fruits, vegetables, grains and animals from around us throughout the year. She also places great importance on food that is embedded with cultural tradition and importance which she immerses herself in through travel (i.e. Thailand, Norway, Ireland, etc.). When she’s not in the kitchen, Sarah loves to walk in the woods, spend time with her family, her puppy, Cashew and have food experiences in the Twin Cities!

The Farm Table works to bring local farm produce and proteins direct to consumers. As the tangible output of farmers who build soil health and respond to each season, Farm Table offers a unique experience on each plate — every day, week and month. Our menu is the living expression of an incipient food culture – including goat meat from Cylon Rolling Acres in Deer Park. We work with what comes in off the land, knowing it is grown here, in living soil, true to the season, and that we all benefit when a community can feed itself well.
